This came up on YouTube.
It introduces words for describing bends. 8 of them, but covers 6.
The first two are 'acute' and 'gradual'. About 1:10 in.
It was new to me. Anyone else heard this before? Google finds nothing apart from the video.

Pretty sure that it's in one of Chris Gilbert's videos.
There are 9 types of bend and the acronym to remember them is GABO.
Gradual
Acute
Blind
Open
4 each for left and right.
The ninth type is a vertical bend, or crest.

Mr Ward is ex-Met, so that could be influence. But I'm intrigued that it doesn't seem to appear anywhere else.

Pretty certain that I learned it from a Chris Gilbert DVD donkeys' years ago and I think you're right in that I don't recall seeing it used anywhere else either.
Re: Ah, that's cute
I can't see a particular benefit from the acute / gradual distinction, particularly since both can be blind and an open can be tight or wide (gradual, that is).
