Cause the assessor by surprise :)

Cue big debate about legality of standing up on the road

I do "sit up" approaching crests to get a better view. Over the time of a ride it's surprising how much you slouch and your height compresses.

The first time I stood on the pegs my heated jacket unplugged itself.

Riding from Guildford to Birmingham and back on A & B roads yesterday I was definitely slouching towards the end and made myself sit up straight which improved my view as well.

Just as well it wasn't a tethered airbag jacket :)

I made up an extension lead (partially to weave through the suit's two zips) so that I could get off and stand alongside.

He's at it again. Click bait title (and axe to grind?)

My comment on there has gained a lot of traction but at the time of posting here he is still managing to ignore it.

I thought he'd done IAM but I looked back and found this video and he mentions he wanted to (comment from October 2020)

I wouldn't want to be his Observer!

He said he was going to do it, but then we've heard no more.

What's wrong with standing up? Was it frowned upon in Hendon?

Not being in full control of your vehicle.

Loads of debate online. Try doing an emergency stop at 40/50moh standing.

I stood up on one of my Blue Riband instructor assessments. Managed to pop off an overtake a bit sooner - and surprised the assessor :D

Scenario: start of a dual carriageway, slight crest.
