Interesting, I always push, and that's what I advise Associates to do. You can push without your fingers wrapped round the bars. This also means you can steer while using the clutch or brakes if you have to.

Yup - lucky that the bars usually work together

And that's another aspect moving your upper body 'in', pressure forwards on the inside bar end, pull back on the outer.

Has anyone commented either on YouTube or in PistonHeads, where Mr Local is a regular poster?

I don't watch his bike videos - not a biker, no plans to become one. And I've not seen anything on PH.

Thoughts from anyone? (before I pick out a few lowlights (yes, I'm not perfect but ... ))

Thoughts?

1. If you're going to demo P123 within a lane, choose a road with lane markings

2. Improved view through left bends from P3? Hmmm ish for different definitions of view

3. Hurrah - almost 'Z Line' when covering junctions and attracting attention

4. ... but ... re junctions, potentially worst case is a vehicle approaching from the opposite direction and intending to turn across your path.


I've only got to 12 minutes in, that's all for now.

In the video he actually makes a point of saying that a test fault he often sees is that you don't always need to adjust speed, just position, but lots always adjust speed. I know what he is saying, but: Out of position? Lost view? Slow down! Throughout the video, to my eye, he just barrels through, often with lost/reduced view.

Classic Hazard Perception Test footage! I see the black car coming in and I'm clicking my mouse like a mad thing and he's barrelling along with a "beep"!

I think I'd have moved back after the first one (he's explained about not expecting to just get past bicyclists), but then you're always banging on about having a better view 'cos you sit higher, so not sure.
