IAM forget motorcycles again

Postby exportmanuk » Sat Jul 11, 2020 1:10 pm

A recent Facebook post by the IAM about future personal transport plans contained an info-graphic and guess what no sign of any powered two wheel vehicles. Well that a large part of their membership who they have just alienated.

It is certainly getting a good number of comments.

Here's a direct link

I got in there first and it seemed to open the flood gates.

Sadly, the same is happening with Government policy and this report they are referencing is likely doing the same. Still a poor show from the IAM social media department. As members of the Coalition of Motorcycling Organisations which includes MAG, you'd expect better, even if you absent mindedly forgot about the motorcycle section of your organisation.

Considering the bike observers are the ONLY ones providing revenue via bike tests at the moment.

Very true. One wonders how they could have slipped up so badly.

Years of practice? ;)

Actually, is it more likely that someone simply reused a press release without considering the content, rebranding the (or commissioning a new) graphic?
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

What ever the reason they should be better, not the first time they have done something like this. :hit:

But still you pay your subs ;)

Finally! IAMRoadsmart has produced something sensible for motorcyclists. The charity proposes airbag jackets should be exempt from VAT like helmets:

I hope IAM Roadsmart actively campaigns on the airbag VAT issue.
