Filly was giving me a lift to work, years ago. Someone pulled out in front of us, she was annoyed, I just sat there. "Aren't you bothered by that?" she asked. "Nope, if you ride a bike then you expect it to happen every day".
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.
