I find it interesting to note the difference in associates on roads they don't know then roads they do. Timid on unfamiliar roads but often risk taking on roads they ride regularly. Then you have the discussion with them, "well I know that road" mmmmm.

I try to ride every road likes its the first time ( actually the state of many roads it might as well be) Yes knowledge can help especially but I always ride my own ride. I've see what happens when someone follows another rider blindly up the road with the if they can do it I can attitude. Not something I would like to repeat myself.

Was out again yesterday for no other reason than to practise. About 225 miles on a mixture of roads in the Cotswolds.

I reckon I'm getting quite good at looking around to enjoy the views.

Interspersed with some navigating and the odd hopefully constructive comment.
there is only the road, nothing but the road ...
