From an exceedingly brief online search, tunnel vision is something you have, rather than something you use.


In a very crude manner is the best I can say. I remember we watched our pupils eye movements and where they were looking. It was not scientific.
My own and purely personal thoughts are that so much emphasis is/was put on 'watching the road ahead' in a screwed up eye way that a lot else, small clues, may be missed. I also think, again personally, that tunnel vision is more prevalent than is understood.
It should be born in mind that in those days a lot less cars had door mirrors. It was necessary to pay extra to get two!
