Is it flying?
Is it identified?
Is it an object?

If you can answer those then you have the answer to your question.

Hope that helps.

Difficult (well, impossible?) to tell their altitude, so could it be a drone (close) or blimp (higher)?

I've seen two WTF? objects. One was on a very clear night, descending towards Heathrow, it was heading almost directly towards me so looked like a star, but different.

The other was late one afternoon leaving RAF Molesworth, there was a shimmering silver cigar shape in the far distance. I realised that I was near Cardington. No, not a haze of hot air from DVSA ;)

No, it was in 1994, so a tad earlier. No idea exactly what it was, I was perhaps 20 miles away!

How close to Rendlesham Forest were you when you took the photo?

Ha ha :D

Here's the truth (the camera never lies!) : At the time I took the photo it was clear to the naked eye that these were helium zeroes. I suspect some poor centenarian's birthday had reverted them to one! :)

Timing was the key to that photo. I expect a video would have shown them tumbling with the effects of the wind. There's a video on YouTube taken in Brooklyn of a single ring-shaped 'object' that is clearly being blown by the wind. That's probably also a helium ring from someone's birthday.

I was surprised at the time, they both floated perfectly flat maintaining the classic 'saucer' orientation. Wish I'd had my main camera with me. I'd have made a fortune off a video :)
