Accommodation in Bristol

Postby Horse » Sat Aug 26, 2023 8:21 am

Bit of a random, long-shot, post. But I know we have members in the area.

Foal has a place at Bristol Uni, for a one year Masters. Starting in 3 weeks.

He's desperately seeking accommodation. Any links to, for example, Facebook groups, thoughts / ideas / suggestions, gratefully received.

Thanks.

Simple answer is - not easy but there is accommodation if you are prepared to pay through the nose:

https://www.mystudenthalls.com/student- ... n/bristol/

https://www.accommodationforstudents.com/search-results

https://www.thestudentsunion.co.uk/supp ... mmodation/

It seems that uni accommodation is generally full, house shares are hard to find, but there is space in some of the privately run student accommodation- but prices of up to £1,400 a month! It might be cheaper to look at the private rental market!

We have been through the same as my nephew is coming to Bristol to study in September - he is going to stay with us as accommodation is so hard to find…

Wow! His budget is ideally 500pm, up to 600. Travel costs to the Uni a factor.

Thx for links, I'll pass them on in case he's not aware.

Currently searching Facebook, Instagram, Rightmove, etc., plus every contact in the area we have.

It could be worth joining lots of local Facebook groups - for example we are in the BS9 group but there are many for every area - pick desirable areas, join the group and then ask..

That budget should be possible - I was just illustrating the cost of the private student accommodation!

Yup, he is. Plus 'spare room', and more.

At least one Facebook group has closed to new student members.

Which has today produced unfurnished rooms at £500 inc bills.

In an ex-care home :)
