Take a look t the following video...it's presumably from some highly trained bikers (not sure which country)...it looks flippin dangerous to me...

...what do others think (especially the few bikers we have here)?

Looks like two gendarmes clearing a route for the camera vehicle probably an emergency ambulance (sapeur-pompiers)

Having seen videos of the DPG, seen the DPG in action escorting Boris on the A12 (didn't know who it was until that evening's news) and the combination of police and "amateur" bikers escorting and creating a rolling road block for the women's cycle tour last week, I felt that was awful. Drivers might see the bikers approaching but have no idea how they might be passed. I'm not a biker, but I would've thought that style made the bikes pretty unstable if there was oil or water on the road too

Apparently the camera vehicle is blood or organ transport

IMO, that was bloody awful and, TBH, not entirely sure whether it was a help or a hindrance, at least in the heavier traffic. Still, I guess if you live there and that is what you expect from them you know to just stay the feck out of their way.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Back to the OP, a lot of 'emergency' riding would probably fall under the WTF? category for many riders.

But, TBH, those French guys are amateurs (or, to use the French, 'amateurs'). Watch this ...

Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

That is what bikes are for, getting through traffic :judge:

Yes - I thought they were called Diplomatic Protection Group - either they were or I imagined it....

If it was just blood or organ transport why not just take it by bike ....

Because sometimes...

ETA: This is the full video with input from the participants rather than the edited version with the annoying Alastair Stewart.
