Spring has sprung

Postby GTR1400MAN » Fri Apr 15, 2022 3:23 pm

Spring has sprung. Time for a clean. Much scrubbing of the boots and then copious amounts of Nikwax cleaners/proofers and some Simoniz Back to Black on the hard armour. It looks like I must ride more with the sun on right judging by the fading of the gloves.

You’re lucky to have leather boots! Mine are newfangled microfibre, albeit it means they don’t need leather food.

I used Nikwax leather cleaner – or warm water on a clean cloth – for my leathers, plus Duckswax ‘food’. I’m a complete convert to Duckswax – leather food for the connoisseur. It's the best of the many 'foods' I've tried.

But I also recommend Scrubbers Leathers for expensive clobber (e.g., the Dainese Custom Works onesie that Mike wears :) in his kneedown videos).

The boots area mixture of what was suede leather and panels of textile/corduroy.
