All Quiet on the Western Front
All Quiet on the Western Front
Well all quiet on all fronts. What are people up to in these fuel limited times?

Ooh look, electric cake!

This weekend I have mostly been riding my motorbike, although I did give the MR2 a run out this morning in search of croissants. It’s been rather sidelined since I got the bike.

It was Victorian
Then yesterday I had an enjoyable day riding a mixture of bikes, leading customers out on demo rides. Always good to experience as many machines a possible. Suzuki Busa, GSX-S1000, Kawasaki Z900, KTM 1290 Super Adventure, 390 Adventure, 890 Duke. Faves were Z900, S1000 and Super Adv.

Back to driving! A day out with my friend HIR last week, and a pre-test check drive with his associate, as a welcome break from intense preparation for my daughter's wedding! (Coincidentally back over some of the same roads today on the way to a lovely lunch party).

We recently had a good blast from Oxfordshire to Heysham for the ferry to the IOM (and back). My, the roads were busy: interesting the sheer number of HGVs about, drivers or no drivers. There is a lot of something going on! I occasionally take Saab 1 or 2 out for a quick blast round the Downs.

Shall I? Should I? No shortages of anything where I live.
In effect not limited so life continuing as normal.
A letter from abroad
Good luck and I hope it gets better.

Well I'm close to Inverness...doing the North Coast 500! Fuel is no problem up 'ere. Some stunning roads and scenery even in October and the places we've been staying at (B&B's, an self-catering apartment and hotels) have all been fab.
The people have been friendly and the 'other' drivers seem pretty good and courteous and the NC500 isn't too busy either - I've heard it's getting too popular in the summer but it's fine at the moment.

Re: All Quiet on the Western Front
Petrol situation still terrible here so driving limited to essential travel and the use of Eco mode. Never thought I would ever use it but needs must. Took the electric Brompton out today for a spin although most of my riding these days is in the comfort of my home. Recently purchased a Wahoo Kicker Bike and use it in conjunction with the Zwift app. Amazingly realistic and climbed Alpe D’Huez twice and Mont Ventoux amongst other rides in the last few weeks. Just like the real thing but no traffic to worry about. An extra bonus is my HbA1C has dropped dramatically and the Doctor is talking of reducing my medication if I maintain or reduce the present level at my next review.
