Quite a bit of time has passed since this all became 'live'.

We were promised a full driver education publicity campaign. Has anyone seen anything?

I'm still waiting to see some clarification of what they really meant with regard to letting pedestrians cross if waiting to in a side road and if/how this relates to RABs (which I don't believe it does as it is not in that section of the HWC)

I walk every day and not one car has let me cross a side road. Fortunately I've been walking a while, so I manage. Bizarrely, three cars have stopped on a green light when I've been standing at a Puffin crossing.
I agree with not stopping leaving a roundabout, but when mainstream online ADIs advocate it, it's even more confusing. I think I'll email someone.

I'll stop entering a RAB, but always had done. Yes, the level of "I'm rightness" in certain YouTube videos is concerning as I'm sure it must confuse a lot of learners who follow him. He 'shamed' me in a post because I didn't agree, hanging all his superiority on an email from a DVSA social media spokesman. So I'm really interested in what you are being advised to teach.

When this all first got the papers making click bait posts I had a rider leading several others stop on a NSL B road to let some pedestrians cross on a straight! Needless to say we had a 'discussion' over coffee on maintaining safety and reading what is actually written.

I do this but am often waved on. On Monday I was in a side road approaching a main road and waited to let a chap cross; he looked at me as if I was just waiting to mow him down. Eventually he crossed and, eventually, I continued on my way.

A fairly recent M25 junction improvement resulted in a traffic-light controlled crossing on the exit from a roundabout - https://goo.gl/maps/HVJygNUdFUKq2reh9 - I think the start of NSL was moved to beyond the crossing.

I'd call that one a traffic light controlled exit.

Remove the lights and then ask yourself if you'd stop for someone wanting to cross. (edit: you as in general population, not you personally ... it sounded confrontational after I pressed enter )

I've had a google and found a similar DVSA statement:

"The rule change to give pedestrians priority to waiting to cross the road applies at junctions (including roundabouts) and when crossing side roads." Peter (DVSA) posted on 15 February 2022

But, that's not what the Highway Code says.

Here's another comment/DVSA response from an ADI who sought clarification (can't copy/paste from it):

I think part of the problem is that the word "roundabout" doesn't really exist in old ADI training. It was considered as another type of junction. So I can understand old ADIs hearing "junction" and going all Pavlovian.

Hadn't seen this one, but as woolly as. Of course I wouldn't run them over, but I wouldn't stop and put myself in danger either, if they were just waiting.

The HWC makes a clear distinction between junctions and RABs and whoever decided on the final changes made a conscious decision to only update the guidance for junctions ... yet their 'spokespeople' seem to not recognise this. I was hoping some formal publicity would draw the same distinction.
