New Members.
Why do so many join and then never contribute to or initiate discussion?
Re: New Members.
I am sure that there are probably standard % figures around for those who join / those who initiate / those who respond / etc. but doesn't seem all that unusual...
with this forum we have some areas locked to those not members, so that in itself gives a reason for some to join - to read those areas

Yeah, always plenty of lurkers on any forum.
I tend to go in phases, occasionally spend a few weeks active on one place then have a bit of a breather and hang somewhere else for a while. No specific reason why other than natural attention span cycles I think.

Hi
I'm a new member who is a serial lurker on a few message boards and forums. I read and learn and rarely think of anything to say which someone else doesn't write better, more concisely and before I've got around to doing so.
I appreciate all the thought and effort people go to in their messages, as well as being entertained by the banter

Hello! Tell us a bit about yourself? Have you had much of a chance to trawl through old threads, anything particularly interesting to you?
