Re: Book Promotion

Put it into context: what else was available in 1988? Blue was a good edition of Roadcraft but as to what else was available, " High-Performance Driving for You ", " Prevent or Punish " and " Putting My Foot Down " ;-) TBH, hadn't seen those then, not seen or heard of ...

Re: Book Promotion

I've had several goes at reading CFP, and found it very hard work, but did eventually finish it. It's meant to be THE coaching book, but I'm not sure I'll ever open it again. Superdriver, hmmm, maybe. Tom Topper - I think the egg had gone off. From CFP, read and use the GROW process, don't worry ab...

Re: Book Promotion

I'm going to be controversial and say I'm not a huge Sir John fan. The book is OK, but don't be too disappointed. Get one when you spot it cheap. Put it into context: what else was available in 1988? Roadcraft, still still bluebook John Miles, Advanced Driving the Police Way - very good IAM Advance...

Re: Book Promotion

Also, any thoughts on selecting your gear AFTER the LP starts to move away? Sir John Whitmore mentions it in his RAC Superdriver book, as his preference. Driver? Do I really want to be changing gear mid bend on a motorcycle if I can easily avoid it? It's a really good book, published in 1988. https...

Re: Book Promotion

I did say 'could be said to be where they split' ;) Other than that, does my explanation make sense? I'll try and find the diagram and see if I can host it somewhere. I think I need to see the diagram to fully understand. The pic in my head says that's a bit late to be altering line ;) The best/wor...

Re: Book Promotion

But the limit point never splits apart. As you progress through the corner it slowly moves away from you and as the view of the tarmac opens up it (on a straight road) rushes away from you to infinity ( and beyond :) ). By its very definition (the point where the two sides of the road meet) it can ...
