Re: Double White Line Meaning?

totally :D

still going for what goes through the mind of the road engineers (strange bunch that they are!) - quite enjoying debating without trying to give it away - though we probably have, though maybe not considering the answers to the poll!

Re: Double White Line Meaning?

mmm, without giving it away, the correct reason comes as a result of putting in double white lines, however I would argue that highways / councils don't put them in for that reason - they put them in for one of the other reasons (which is technically incorrect), but is what they mean when they put t...

Re: So do you know the Highway Code?

10/10 I was thrown for a moment by the seatbelt question, then remembered that bikes don't have them, so it could only be one answer  not sure that is the reason - there are cars out there where you don't have to wear a seatbelt - if not fitted as it is not compulsory to have them fitted... my...

Re: Double White Line Meaning?

I think that it is badly phrased :) the only one which is fully prohibited is not actually the meaning of the white lines, but a consequence - the one closest to the meaning is not actually fully prohibited :D which maybe is why it is a good question! So perhaps it shouldn't ask about meaning and th...

So do you know the Highway Code?

Following on from the pedestrian thread, and picking up on a new survey which shows that less than 1/4 of motorists look at the highway code after passing their test: http://www.telegraph.co.uk/motoring/11919303/Quiz-How-well-do-you-know-the-Highway-Code.html little check with 10 questions - how wel...

Re: Home page picture?

:D mmm there are certainly plans to have a front end to the website - I need to find some time! However we need to think through what information would be useful to provide (I have some ideas)... we won't however be sticking it on Wordpress which might possibly be in use on some other website :D Ala...

Re: Best driving roads - Based on experience.

Shropshire B4364 Bridgnorth - Ludlow. Out of 10 I'd have to say an 7.5. It's around 20 miles and good for cars or bikes. Mostly NSL except for some villages, plenty of challenging corners and quiet unless its a Sunday. What are your recommendations? If we can keep the same format then it will be an...

Re: Autonomous cars "will have accidents"

it sums up a lot about how these cars while autonomous, have a huge lack in intelligence... I'm expecting Google cars, and the like, might rely on cloud processing to a significant degree. worrying ;) why is there a rush? Commercial organisations hoping to grow a market and generate lots of gold pr...
