Re: Greetings

Welcome. I spent much of that time in 2018 practising my commentary - radio always off and babbling away to myself, as well as any unfortunate passengers, on every journey. Have you thought about what or when you are saying? I know that sounds immediately weird but ... you might be saying the kinds ...

Re: New Members.

More than two years and still zero input from new members. That's unfair, the last post from a new member was less than a year ago. In some ways what helped previously were the frequent driving days, in which forum members could meet in small groups and practice driving together. There's been a goo...

Re: Comments from ADI...

I find if I stop to let a gap build up, then I've closed them down again in very short order. There's a risk, unless you have a great view behind while stopped, that another vehicle will come along and plonk themselves in between. Sometimes I repeatedly have let a gap build up and use it, (with the ...

Re: Motorcycle videos

I'd like to ask about 2 in that while you returned in the distance you could see to be clear - the second longer reaching shadow behind the van - it didn't seem you could see much beyond, so I'd be imagining a fast towards coming out from the other side of the van. I suppose a general question about...

Re: Motorcycle videos

The other 2 I'd argue that in the real world, rather than the theory of 3 stage vs momentum, that most overtakes are a hybrid of the two. When helping drivers to overtake, I work very hard on persuading them not to close as they're moving out, and only to make the decision when they're fully out, a...

Re: Oh deary me ...

No more advanced driving or riding in Surrey Hills, then, so will local groups disband?

Re: The nightmare has arrived, or has it?

I know it's not the news organisation making the comments in the article but some of those they relayed do make me wonder, however they've used a click-bait headline
driver overtakes FOUR cars in a row by driving the wrong way down the road
that fairly drips with false outrage.

Worth asking what the extra words give. I imagine driving through a town and seeing no road users for a goodly distance but, perhaps, people on footpaths who might step into the road without looking.
