Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017

e.g. Seeing the NSL white background/black diagonal as 'GLF' (these days bowdlerised to 'Go Like Fury'). Those days are long gone. Everything within the posted limits. Sorry, was unclear. I meant personally as much as during training. I was also thinking of club rider-outs rather than training sess...

Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017

You can not be selective about which bits of your vehicle are legal. Hmmm how does 'making safe progress *wink*' fit with that? Shouldn't, perhaps, pick and choose which laws we abide by when moving either? ?? Not sure what you are alluding to. Safe progress has to be legal. Care to expand? e.g. Se...

Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017

You are all missing the point ... it is illegal. Wrong spacing as well as missing the makers info etc. You can not be selective about which bits of your vehicle are legal. Re: Reg Local at Bristol IAM, 30 September 2017

I suspect most people could easily be helped to understand the difference between safety-related issues like those, and vanity / administrative issues like the mis-spaced plate. It's been quite common for years for police to prosecute motorcyclists for too-small plates. A friend was done, after off...

Re: 100 Year Old Driving School

One of the most common elderly accidents is shooting off in an automatic. I'd have thought haandbrake/neutral is still good practice in a real auto? 4% of RTCs - "most common"??? But this is an old document, it can only get worse as people live longer. Section 3.11 "The vast majority...

So you can keep your foot on the brake and dazzle the driver behind?

Re: Flat bottomed steering wheels - why??

Only if they are never turned, or the wider bit will dig into the upper legs. So they let people get in to cars with no seat height or sterring wheel adjustment, but don't allow them to steer? It would work for getting i nand out, as the additional clearance wheel:seat would be in place with the wh...
