Re: Comments from ADI...

In a coaching session with a well regarded and well known coach, it was suggested to me that I needed to be closer if I was looking for an overtake - and that extending the following distance simply extends the length of an overtake, making it considerably more risky and reducing opportunity. The su...

Re: Comments from ADI...

i would be less worried about his following time (he moved up in prep. for an overtake) than his inability to read the cars in front esp. when there was heavy braking… first overtake seemed fine - second was much riskier and he seemed to do an overtake where he came out accelerating still for the o...

Re: Comments from ADI...

Intriguing, he makes a big thing of 2 seconds separation, yet is closer than that tailing the second car. When he decides to go he doesn't have a view in front of the car he is overtaking (which he would gain from moving laterally to the right), and he is already accelerating and committed before he...

Re: Driving day Newbury

More information (for those who have forgotten over Covid!) on what a driving day is - here- members only. Any discussions on driving days needs to be in the members section (Members - Driver Network) - other than the general announcement :)

thanks!

Re: Motorcycle videos

As a motorcycle rider you often have a view over the top of a lot of cars so it’s not always necessary to pull out to the right to get a view of some sort. Fair point, though: - you build a habit which then becomes second nature and is then used automatically behind eg a van where you can’t see ove...

Re: Motorcycle videos

A fascinating look from the motorcyclist viewpoint - as a car driver it is always interesting watching your videos and seeing the vulnerability and how you counter it - though the tractor early on looked a little wide and close to you! I am not a motorcyclist so can't comment as others can, but I wo...

Re: The Mind Boggles ...

This should be fun - the NHS are already seeing an increase in accidents from the low powered rental ones - these really will become donor bikes!

Re: HPC Young Drivers' Day 2022

With this day only a few weeks away, worth noting that there are still some spaces on the day... Age is the main limit, and it is aimed at those who are 26 or younger - however, if there are spaces and you are only slightly outside that criteria, it is probably worth making contact and seeing if the...

Re: E-scooters safer than bicycles - says ROSPA

Will be interesting to see how that compares with the NHS statistics... They are apparently recording increasing numbers of casualties of various levels (not sure which of those would then be reported into the DfT stats that RoSPA uses). My wife is a hand surgeon and is seeing quite a few patients r...
