Re: Reg Local and speed...
I expect many Observers/Tutors have been in the position of saying, or not saying something to a trainee whilst wearing the IAM/RoADA hat. For example, for those who have perfected heel"n"toe, left foot braking, trail braking etc. fully understand the extra safety benefits of these techniq...

Re: Reg Local and speed...
I agree with Gareth.
The risk is that Reg’s comments may be taken out of context and without the caveats.
I would not be surprised, if I were told, that there are many IAM/RoADA Examiners, Observers and Tutors that at times are flexible with NSLs.

Re: Reg Local and speed...
The issue now is that while he may only treat the NSL as flexible, and stick to the other posted limits, the councils have started installing swathes of 40 and 50 limits that were once NSL. When do you decide to treat them as advice? Already the limits posted are treated with contempt by many drive...

Re: Reg Local and speed...
OMG it’s like listening to oneself. Good for him for straight talking and to do this in a video. I agree with his comments about 80/85 mph and three figure speeds. As he says the fun is cornering and the feel of acceleration together with achieving a smooth seamless drive with appropriate pace. Reg,...

Re: On Shadows
I stopped wearing reactive lenses for the reason you mention and also because even when clear they are not as clear as non reactive lenses. Most noticable when night driving. For period I used to keep clear lensed glasses in the car for driving and reactive lenses for other times. The best solution...

Re: Hazard warning sign on Dual Carriageway
Going shopping and/or travelling to a better environment for exercise ... unless I'm working testing our equipment ... or entertaining myself to stave off complete and utter boredom ;-) That's a mighty big "putting in a loop" if you were going shopping. My excuse is I get lost when going ...

Re: Social distancing and observing
Well at last in todays Downing Street Update it was admitted not to expect much to change this "calendar year". Baring a miracle that was stating the obvious, just taken them some time to come out and say it.

Re: Social distancing and observing
I’ve been wondering the same. From what we are hearing now it looks like it is unlikely that car observing can be considered at least until the end of the year unless a vaccine can be found earlier. With close proximity in the car and the age of many Observers and Associates I think we will be among...
