Re: The most difficult aspect of Advanced Driving
I posted on another board my experiences of an ADUK day (in particular, changing my throttle use and steering input for cornering, after my first day in Jan 2014, with JC & Gareth). This was one reply: Good grief. Most of the people I know 'just drive', some more scarily than others. Some are ge...

Re: The most difficult aspect of Advanced Driving
I've never had much time for the 'challenge' boys who think they've got to drive just a little bit beyond their capabilities to improve. Often, if trying to include heightened self-awareness and reflection, it's necessary to operate below 'peak' otherwise you run the risk of running out of brain po...

Re: The most difficult aspect of Advanced Driving
[ With many of the drivers that others speak in awe of I can feel uncomfortable with aspects of the drive. Usually entry speeds to hazards, balance and relying on the car to get them round a corner. The problem is, as they are highly respected, is it me that has it wrong? Probably, so who am I to c...

you felt - that the drive was . . . boring . Sadly/weirdly/ironically/etc, that's often the biggest compliment :) There's a video on Youtube of the Met SEG bikes leading a VIP (actually, it was a cancelled run, so they used it for training, but don't tell anyone) through London. Nothing *really* ha...

Re: Speed differentials
I'm usually seen on the M4 between J14 and J4 (Hungerford junction and the M25 junction). I was thinking to the last time I drove on the M4, (yesterday afternoon, between J13 and J14) and realised I somehow managed to achieve speeds of about 85 (90 indicated) without caring too much... There are re...

Re: Driver behaviour when moving for emergency services.
IIRC, e-drivers are supposed to turn off the noise and lights if baulked by traffic at red lights. Not all do, which - understandably - causes drivers to panic while trying to be helpful.
