Re: Vehicle 2 Vehicle (V2V) technology

I wouldn't mind a system where your car would warn you of the presence of other vehicles by means of visual alerts, What, like eyes? *sighs* My boss's car has blind spot warning indicators on the rear view mirrors (orange light comes on when there's something in the blind spot - or you're dr...

Re: Welcome & Approach

I'll add very observant. ;) Do I get a prize? Not at all! Think rather that your chirpy, cheerful, cheeky presence provides a refreshing counterpoint to the old-fartery which can at times pervade the conversational traffic on 'ere - mainly because we're the same bunch of old farts (and ye...

Re: Vehicle 2 Vehicle (V2V) technology

I wouldn't mind a system where your car would warn you of the presence of other vehicles by means of visual alerts, but if this system was to have direct control over the braking system, I'd be uncomfortable with that.

Re: Speed differentials

I'm usually seen on the M4 between J14 and J4 (Hungerford junction and the M25 junction). I was thinking to the last time I drove on the M4, (yesterday afternoon, between J13 and J14) and realised I somehow managed to achieve speeds of about 85 (90 indicated) without caring too much... There are re...

The most challenging thing for me is sitting through another dull discussion on steering on a forum linked to advanced driving...

Re: Driver behaviour when moving for emergency services.

Well, I think the main issue is simply the fact nobody tells you what to do. I remember being on the M4, L3 overtaking a train of 56ers (those people who drive along at 56 within a few cm of the car in front?) in fairly heavy, but fast flowing traffic, and I noticed blue lights in the rearview mirro...

Re: Speed differentials

So if you've been on the M4 and you saw a silver (which is more brown than silver) Skoda Yeti Greenline travelling at speeds between 85 and 95, that probably was me... Oops. if you saw a blue skoda scout / z3 overtaking you... - waves :) Alasdair I'm usually seen on the M4 between J14 and J4 (Hunge...

Re: Speed differentials

Well... I prefer to overtake with a brisk differential and minimise the amount of time spent alongside another car, so I will speed up a bit when overtaking. Especially if there's a car approaching behind me. However, sometimes I forget to slow down after performing the overtaking manoeuvre... So if...

We should make sure that Insanity 1234 knows where we've gone - would be a shame to lose the entertainment value! "Entertainment value" eh? That's all I am to you guys, just a spot of entertainment, because my deluded, idealists views on a lot of situations are often amusing? How DARE you...
