Re: Cameras should automatically fine drivers who go more than 10mph over the limit
I recall reading that in the 1930's the government of the day abolished every single speed limit in one go. The result? Both accidents and deaths.injuries declined. It isn't speed per se that kills and maims. It is inappropriate speed. So the failure of the IAM to recognise that training is the key t...

Re: Driving day Newbury
Damn! Shame it couldn't be brought forward a week... I am likely to arrive in Colombia exactly 4 days before the 15th.

Just down the road from me Mr C-W. I'd love to meet up. Won't be for a while though. I'm doing this Colombia thing in depth... Spring?

Re: Yet another....
I've been off the air quite some while. All sorts of excuses - but nothing to be proud of. However, the inexorable advance of the years has prompted me to do something I have wanted to do for decades... I am writing this, sat on a very hard bed, in a town called Ibagué in central Colombia. 7000 mile...

Re: Older cars become more attractive by the day
I've been pondering the wisdom of chucking in my collection of 3 fun, relatively simple and fastish old cars. Trouble is, whether it's electric, hybrid or petrol, about the only cars I fancy are Lambos... I can't abide the styling of modern 'reasonable' cars. I can't abide the shite in the cockpit: ...

Re: Can anyone advise please? France
Thank you all. Yes. Happily, I am old enough to remember French roundabouts when, on one, one had to give way to traffic entering the roundabout! I thought they had almost died out now though. I've got hi viz jackets - the orange colour ones. I havent got breath test kits but it's not a bad idea I s...

Re: Can anyone advise please? France
Lol. Been a long time since this thread last moved, but, given continuing events, the trip to enjoy both some of the passes in the Pyrenees and the Millau Viaduct has been postponed 12 months. Looks like May 30th 2022 is the start date now. I gotta confess though, the idea of that damn bridge sacare...

Re: Can anyone advise please? France
Thank you one and all. That's really helpful. Clearly I've been misadvised in some aspects haven't I? I'll go look at that AA site now. Thanks again.

Can anyone advise please? France
Hi everyone The boiling weather today has reminded me there is a question to which I would very much appreciate the answer. Next May I am off for a drive down through France to the Pryenees. As I have an LED lit Audi R8 what is the position with regard to the rquirement to carry a spare set of bulbs...
