Re: I thought I was the only one.
I really don't get all their problems with the key fob. Why would anyone put the fob anywhere in the car. Just keep it in your pocket where it was designed to be. Am I missing something? Or like when I'm driving Filly's car, she gets out with the key in her handbag and wanders off ...

Re: I thought I was the only one.
So much technology in cars, some of it useful, some IMO potentially dangerous. However given all this gimmickery why oh why can it not automatically change the clock twice a year. The correct screen prompts are fingered and the OK pressed, yet still no joy! One of our cars, years ago (late 1990s Ib...

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
They are also told "if the limit point is static, slow down." So if there is a static limit point 150m away and they're doing 50mph, they slow down. That sounds an odd piece of advice. By static, do you mean 'staying at the same amount of road visible' ie gaining as much road view as you'...

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
To be honest, aspects such as varying weight distribution like that is outside of my skill! Reg has done a video on balancing the car through bends. But the way you and John explained it was far simpler! And, to do what he suggests (opening the throttle at steering point) really requires that the th...

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
The only question that one needs to ask oneself on the approach to a bend is… “can I stop in the distance that I can see to be clear, and likely to remain so .” Does he say that bit? Edit: No Well spotted. The small matter of… “and likely to remain so” is often overlooked by IAM observers and senio...

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
For a series of bends it copes very well, adjusting revs as you move to the smaller diameter edge of the tyre as you turn in. I was thinking more about using throttle to balance the bike, front-rear as well as against gravity, and against and slowing. Anything the bike's system does is reactive, no...

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
My USAF mentor suggested that a fair guide is being comfortable (all else ok, of course) to open the throttle at the start of the bend (F-R balance factors aside).

Re: +ve & -ve limit point
I've only tried cruise control on long sections, such as motorways. How does / would it cope in a series of bends, any idea? Edit to clarify: it might cope with loss of speed through the bend, but couldn't deliberately use power to alter balance. And if increasing speed through, would it [see AB's t...
