Re: Differing rates of fuel evaporation

Re: Differing rates of fuel evaporation

Top tip - after filling your car brim full in hot weather, give it death for the first 15 minutes to make room in the tank for expansion :racing:  I've seen fuel bubbling out of a motorcycle's tank as the petrol warmed up after being pumped out of the underground tank. The bike had been fi...

Re: Fuel saving tips

There's a quarry in Switzerland that uses electric hail trucks. They're loaded at the top of a hill, emptied at the bottom. End the day with more charge. https://www.greencarreports.com/news/1124478_world-s-largest-ev-never-has-to-be-recharged Seems to me ... Might even be possible to harness a bit...

He said that the regen braking was so good that he had more range in the car when he got back than when he set off. There's a quarry in Switzerland that uses electric hail trucks. Re: Fuel saving tips

Reads like it was written by someone who wanted to provide helpful advice but didn't wanted to be bothered with details. In my somewhat jaundiced view, that suggests they fit in well with most of the population. https://www.mynewsdesk.com/uk/iam-roadsmarts-media-centre/news/fuel-saving-tips-to-comb...

Fuel saving tips

Does this make sense? If you drive a plug-in vehicle, make sure you maximise the potential by charging the battery. The increased weight of the vehicle will mean that, in the long run, the actual mpg will be far short of the claims. But over short journeys and by using electric where possible, your ...

Re: IAM Thruxton Young Drivers Skills Day

Serious question: is it the case that pressing both pedals can cause issues in some cars? Not sure what you mean about "causing issues", but it's very common now for brake input to cut the throttle. /\ That :gear: So, presumably, left foot braking and H&T will gradually become impossi...

Re: IAM Thruxton Young Drivers Skills Day

Many of us brake with the left foot in autos. Once you're used to it you have good subtlety of control with the left foot. Probably not the first time you ever drive one :D Serious question: is it the case that pressing both pedals can cause issues in some cars? A colleague had an older Polo. Dodgy...
