Re: People Power - but who(m)?
At the IAM RoadSmart Regional Forum recently (The South West one was at Haynes Museum) they said one of their focuses (foci?) will be on the volunteers... Observers, Group Committee members etc. So we'll see.

Re: The Silence
Yes - I only check for new posts perhaps once per week...where 2/3 years ago I used to check several times a day. I reckon there are only a few regulars here these days...sad isn't it?

Re: THEY DEMAND BLOOD
Hmmm...I'm a Bloodhound Ambassador - at least I was when the project was 'active'...but the chances of finding a new driver with 'appropriate financial backing' are remote if not impossible I'd say. It's a shame and I don't know why Andy Green is stepping back and the press release doesn't say why e...

Re: Unsigned speed limits
Yes it's a tricky one and of course if you were over the limit and got caught, if the signs were invisible that might be a defence in court...but no one wants to go down that parlarva.
I usually go by what I know - tough on following traffic.

Re: A Local Incident
Sad news.
A new driver, with friends, driving on a rural road, at night? Many get it wrong - which the DVSA are well aware of and hence many driving test routes now include rural roads - but it's not enough I guess.
What does everyone think of Graduated Driver Licencing?

Re: Highway Code Review for cyclists, pedestrians and horse riders
...yes I agree at least a regular eyesight check in the UK would be a good idea.
But lets not forget the UK road safety record (fatalities drivers, passengers, cyclists, horse riders, pedestrians per 100,000 population) is 3rd or 4th in the world - better than Spain, France, Germany.

Re: Insta360 OneX in Renault Clio Hybrid
Very interesting and gives another dynamic view of driving & riding...could be useful to show specific parts of Advanced Driving & Riding. I wouldn't overuse it though.
How much did it cost - I imagine these things were very, very expensive but I'm sure have reduced hugely.

Re: Off-siding
The examiner at my last RoSPA test asked RoSPA for a definitive answer having discussed the matter during the test. They said: You may adopt or hold an offside position to maintain an existing view for as long as it is safe to do so. You may not adopt an offside position in order to seek a view tha...

Re: New Members.
Yes Bristol Advanced Motorists committee are discussing how to encourage new Associates to join up. We have our next course starting next month but only have 6 people signed up as yet (which is some sort of record low I believe). I think post-covid there is still a reluctance to start something new ...
