The accelerate and coast system worked really well when I was using a Volvo 340 variomatic. 40 sets of traffic lights each way from Caterham to Hayes daily. Basically leave the lights get up to 30 quickly, ease off and the system changed up to top, roll to next set of lights and repeat. Got over 30 ...

The scary thing is the DfT are seriously looking at this as an option. On motorways lorries already use tailgating to save fuel. I can't see the "improve safety" aspect of this. Lorries are getting longer already making overtaking quite an undertaking (scuse pun). This idea really needs ni...

Ah :o one of those pedello Caterham jobs, I wonder if they reliaze how vulnerable they are? I am pretty sure they do with the number of close passes they incur.

If the lens is cr@p you'll just get brighter poor lights.

Similar to when people use Xenon kits or LED bulbs but it puts the light source at the wrong point.


So I'll drive 10 to 15mph slower, on the times I drive on country roads at night. :gear:

:shock: Micra headlight £50.00 new, £1000 would buy me a whole car, ok 2nd hand but.... Just upgrade the H4 bulbs, simples. :D

Many years ago, the chap in a volvo behind had his arms folded on top of the steering wheel. I had to brake firmly for an oncoming ovetaker. I did laugh.

On the occasioons I managed to "drop it" I never scuffed up the front or back of my leathers. Hands, Knees, elbows yes. Has it got somthing to do with ABS on bikes nowadays. :?
