Years ago working for a very large driving school we had Austin Metro's foisted on us (totally and utterly dreadful)
These were the basic models and didn't apparently come with reversing lights; that was until you lifted the carpet and clipped the wires together.

It was a driveway entrance, and the entrance was very narrow meaning you had to enter with a very steep steering angle, and to compound matters further, the entrance had quite steep sides on both sides, so you couldn't see into it very easily. But headlights would not shine into the entrance, and there had been quite a bit of rain, and it was (obviously) dark and actually quite wet when the driver was entering the drive, and unbeknown to us, there had been a mini landslide earlier in the day due to the rain, and there was quite a lot of rock on the left hand side of the entrance, so if it wasn't for the fog light shining into the entrance, the rock would've remained unilluminated and most likely not noticed until it damaged the alloy considerably.

You have clearly not learned rule 1 in the Advanced Drivers' Manual: drive only in good daylight and when no rain is expected.

Well, I wasn't driving ;)

At low speed and at a certain steering angle the fog light illuminates on the side you are turning towards to light up the immediate area, eg when turning on to ones driveway or parking at night. As fog lights have a wide flat beam pattern there is no need for it to move.
