Driving back from the North on Sunday, clear sunny afternoon, dry road etc etc.
Chappy coming from the right (red car) made no attempt to stop, just ploughed straight across the junction. If I had gone straight on it would have been a classic T-bone air bag jobby. My reaction was to swerve left and full ABS braking, but crunch .... Mrs Triquet's trusty Yaris will be off to Yaris Heaven.
Sod sod sod it ....

Well done for not freezing!
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.
Re: Sometimes stuff just happens
Sorry to hear, bad luck but well done for reducing impact. Assume no injuries except wallet.

Glad you're OK. Sorry about the Yaris. What was mate's excuse?

Thank goodness no one was hurt. Did the driver offer any explanation?
Re: Sometimes stuff just happens
Oh dear...at least no one was hurt...what an idiot he was?
Out of interest are the red/blue markers on your first post where the cars ended up?

Pretty much. I know it looks a bit as if I has steered RIGHT I might have missed him, but .....

How soon could you see him? i.e. how much of a cross-view is there?

Interesting point. It is quite clear, but as I was a fairly close to NSL and he made no attempt to slow down, but just came across at a good old lick without making any attempt to slow down ("sorry I just didn't see you") the available reaction time was a fraction of buggerall
