Jim,
Lucky man! When I worked at RAL, we used to go occasionally to lunch at the North Star or the Cherry Tree, or another pub which I think has closed. And of course, you have a superb bakery! - Geoff.

Nick,
I love your car! My last MX5 was yellow - because it is one of the safest colours (See and Be Seen).
And I never had any trouble finding it in a car park. They don't do any bright colours any more - I can't understand why! (I suppose Yellow is a bit like Marmite - some people love it, others hate it.) Geoff.

Nick,
PS I used to call it the 'Yellow Peril', for obvious reasons. I hope that doesn't get me accused of racism! - Geoff.

Well I don't, but all will become clear next month :)
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Well, if he has a Porsche, he was hiding it. All I saw on his drive (apart from his wife's car) was a VW Golf Estate.
I just assumed that his garage (like most of the rest of us) was just filled with junk!

Hi Jim,

I did reply to you, but it doesn't seem to have appeared (I must have done something wrong).
When I was working (at RAL) I used to visit Steventon for lunch (a pleasant change from the canteen),
at the North Star, The Cherry Tree, or The Fox. You also have an excellent bakery, which I visit if I am passing through!

Geoff.

Cheers Geoff, it did appear it's up the thread somewhere.
