Yup. 'Quickest' I've heard of is a couple at C. 40k miles, so I almost feel lucky to have had it at 100k!
[It wasn't supposed to be *quite* that much but, as is the way, other stuff needed doing as a consequence]
VAG NOx emisions fix.

Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Mine packed up at about 80k on the 1.9 130bhp engine. It always was a smokey engine if it hadn't been 'gunned' much.

Watchdog featured people's problems with the NOx fix on BBC1 last night.

Some people would claim a problem even if the dealer didn't actually change anything.
Re: VAG NOx emisions fix.
Coincidentally, my OH received a 'Final Reminder' from Audi yesterday which started in a large red font "We haven't seen you regarding the EA 189 NOx emissions service action required for your vehicle."
No suggestions as to what might happen after this final reminder, nor of any dire consequences of not actioning this, but as the car is going in a couple of weeks or so it's a problem VAG will have to sort when she chops it in.

Yup. I had that letter a couple of weeks ago. When I [eventually] sell it the next owner can decide what to do
