Is it just me?

Anything that doesn't fit elsewhere - doesn't have to be AD related.

I do like your subtlety.

Good luck in your exam, BTW.

Reading his site, I am quite interested in exactly who these DVSA advanced trainers are? Are they really just ADIs - I assume they MUST be ADIs - who do a bit of "AD" (but not as we know it) on the side?

On one of his Piston Head posts discussing Supercar driving courses he was trying to set up, he mentions he uses the same instructors as the IAM use!

I wasn't aware that DVSA provided instructors for the IAM?

Well as it so happens he is also an IT bod and does know the square root of something as this company http://www.zinc-econsulting.com is owned by Rob and works out of the same offices as Driversdomain.

'Zinc eConsulting Ltd specialises in the online marketing and development of web based businesses. We own two leading websites in the driver training sector, and currently working on new and exciting projects both within this sector, and further afield in both the UK and around the world.

We also provide consultancy to web based businesses, and companies that wish to improve their online coverage. Specifically we help with:

1. Strategic development of online marketing plans
2. New online business feasibility studies
3. Tactical direction and support, covering organic, paid search and social media
4. Conversion optimisation and development'

It would seem that they are 'experts' in web design around the world, as well as driver training, so our Rob has many strings to his many bows!

mmm ;)

My wife says we're all really bitchy for men! Good luck to Rob and I hope it works out for him in the long run.

The new updates on ADUK are awful, actually thought I had to been directed to an adult site. It looks sleazy and cheap, the 3 squares in green on the side of the screen. Blocking the start of his propaganda, was the worst and ironically the best feature.

Well effing said! Spewing vitriol at anybody in their absence is very poor form, especially if you accept that 'you drive as you are'. can we all move on and let ADUK go?

No, not just yet. Here's to having another go at ADUK:

A quote from the website of ADUK, or whatever it's now called:

"About Our Defensive & Advanced Driving Courses:

This website is not only an online business platform for us, it is also one of the UK’s leading and most respected advanced driving resource site.

We have many pages of useful information and over 100,000 forum posts, where over 2,000 members provide mutual help and support for those interested in advanced driving – for both businesses and private individuals alike."

For me, that says it all. It's just a commercial site now and I don't like being used for Rob's commercial purposes. Also, he's being a bit disingenuous when he intimates that 2,000 members are providing mutual help and support for those interested in advanced driving. I know there are/were 2,000 members of ADUK but, if I recollect correctly, there were only ever about a dozen of us who ever contributed anything remotely interesting, and 90% of that was self-indulgent nonsense.

When you say "us" are you suggesting that 'you' actually contributed anything remotely interesting to ADUK?

Can you point me at that post?

No, I can't, because there isn't one. The only reason I included myself in the "us" category is that although I never contributed anything remotely interesting, it is self-evident that 100% of what I contributed was self-indulgent nonsense, so I qualify for inclusion under that heading. Unfortunately, I am unable to point you towards any of my self-indulgent nonsensical posts on ADUK because when one types "hir" into the "Search all For" box on ADUK what one gets is...

"The following words in your search query were ignored because they are too common words: hir."

So, not only am I grossly self-indulgent, I'm also far too common.

That's why I much prefer it over here on ADHub where I'm not judged on my low social standing.

It is common for driver training companies to use self-employed ADIs for each contact...some can be IAM one day and TTC (or any of the other training suppliers) the next day. I don't do paid work for the IAM but I do work for TTC a few times a month and many of the faces you see are the same throughout the region wearing different 'badges'. I don't think anyone uses straight ADIs - they usually require some sort of AD qualification and some demand a DVSA 'Fleet' badge.
