I thought they had traction control so either he had turned it off or its not that good.

Happens so fast though, guess he is now quite embarrassed seen the same clip on a few forums. Only a few moron comments which is quite surprising, some elements of the riding world think that the BIB are to be derided at every opportunity

I was the other way and thought they didn't and were restricted in the first 3 gears.

Turns out more recent models have both of the above, earlier ones, no traction control. From what I've read the traction control is a bit crude and nothing like the stuff on modern bikes.

A new version of the video has emerged from the police showing it was a freak incident not caused by the rider :)

As a new rider I think it just highlights how easy it is to come a cropper. Obviously a rider who is highly qualified but a little too much throttle under certain conditions and down you go.
