Nice ride out today with Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists. Stopped on the way home to grab this snap. The temp was down to -1 by the time I got home and the bike was a lovely shade of salty white/grey.

It's the road salt I don't like. In fact I often find a few degrees + but recently gritted is slippier than -1/2 ungritted

There is definitely a degree of caution needed - I took the z3 to Church this morning - a road I know well - which in the dry is very fast - but goes in and out of trees - definite ice still in the shade, more of a challenge than 100% ice!

That's very true as I discovered on Tuesday when I left work. The gritters had been out a little earlier than usual and they seemed to have been a bit over zealous with the salt. Too much throttle for the conditions on my part had the bike sliding away from underneath me. Fortunately no damage to the bike and only a slightly grazed knee.

Micro climates.
Gritter grit.
Slimey wet roads CAUSED by gritter's salt/grit. (They never dry out once the molasses and salt are applied )
Certainly makes you maintain/develop a smooth riding style.
