I was at Manchester Uni when that professor was there - Gordon or Graham something, IIRC. He was Mech. Eng. and I was something else, so I only saw him once.

It certainly involved BMWs but if you click on the link above you'll see it's to a US patent that I doubt he would have been granted if it breached someone else's IP.

It was the other way round, with (again) IIRC BMW accidentally borrowing the Hossack design for the K12. I *think* they gave him an R1100RS as a belated thank you.

That's what I was saying. BMW used HIS design/IP.
