However, is there any keep left blue circle sign?

What about traffic emerging, could they go either side too?

I'll not play my cards yet, but probe you for some further info ;)

The Give Way line goes all the way across. And exiting vehicles can use either leg. No Keep Left circle.

My counter play would be ... What significance does the Give Way line play in your perception of the junction?

My paper copy of TSRGD went in the recycling tub a couple of years ago and my e- copy is on the big computer (i.e. in a shed of servers somewhere).

If I remember, and get time, tomorrow, I'll see if I can make some sense of it.

Could you post a street view link?

Thanks.

Even more intriguing when you look further into the turning and that first section has a dashed lane line separating it from the two-way bit.

One other thought,if turning right, major to minor, as the van did. Because of the building there, there's little view of anyone approaching to turn left out of the lane.

So if I don't want to wait behind the white van, I can nip up that handy bit on the right?

Even accepting what Chapter 3 says, I would expect the normal reaction from other road users to be similar to your new friend on YouTube.

I'd have taken the second turning because the view into the minor road is better.

Not in your linked junction as there is a handy Keep Left Blue Arrow ;)

There are often arguments about view, safety, etc. that may influence your decision which leg to take. The van in my clip got stuck because going the way he did the angle is horrible, and many are like that.

I genuinely intersted if anyone has any legal reason why the van couldn't have turned before the Godcake/triangle.

These things get people really staked out in one camp or the other, but I've yet to see any legal evidence. I may have to make a YT video about them

If the van had taken the first turning it would be interesting to see what would happen if a similarly sized van stopped at the give way sign on the straight bit, blocking the first van's exit and the rear of the first van - still on the major road - blocking the view of the driver of the second van.
