I'll never personally bother, but then living by the sea in Devon, we don't get anything like the weather some other parts "ooop norf" get.

Like all advanced drivers, I shall be adapting my style to suit the conditions. :D

Presumably with an overpowered Fabia that means leaving it on the driveway and walking to work

I have a radio controlled clock. Like me, it's always right. ;)

Why would I want to go and do a thing like that?

You will be surprised. I will take the fabia in any conditions, even snow. Having both front wheels driven (limited slip diff) it actually does quite well for a 2 wheel drive. Plus I think the high weight over the front axle helps to dig in.

But in essence, yes, in the worst conditions where I may simply not get out my estate (both ways out have a fair uphill bit) - I will walk to work, or just stay in bed....
