I realised another benefit of thin soled shoes - (although it may just reflect my body having strange ergonomics). I prefer to have my arms reasonably bent - thin soles allows me to move the seat a click nearer the pedals/wheel. On many cars, I already extend the wheel as far towards me as I can. Curiously I've not had this problem on either the Elise or Caterham (which is a good thing too, because the steering wheel isn't adjustable on either )

Ok that's done the shoes but how about a sheepskin car coat - a la Terry Thomas, and those gloves as well ;)

Do we go for the string backed or open backed gloves?

And a packet of Werthers in the glove box and tissues on the rear shelf?

you are forgetting the tweed cap - of which I have many :) essential wear in the open top z3 at this time of year - particularly for the follicle-challenged among us!

I too have an overly silly hat in the glove box for such weather.

My preffered shoe is a puma, though not from their driving range. The sole is thin but quite stiff and they are very narrow and light.

On weekends I drive in my wife's heels, but that's another thread...

I drive in all sorts of shoes, but I've driven in wellies and snow boots, and can't recommend driving in them, as I found myself revving the engine a bit more than necessary when changing down as I couldn't feel the pedals at all.

The Yeti does seem to have a pedal box designed for huge shoes, the space between each pedal is quite large!
