I think with Isettas, you got out, lifted the front, and turned it round yourself (then proceeded forwards to wherever you were going).

I'm surprised an Italian car didn't have a reverse gear - just in case they needed to retreat...

Wasn't there something on Top Gear a while ago, the drove it around inside the BBC office building where May drive it into a lift but couldn't get back out? :confused:

Not all of them had a reverse gear fitted (various makes) to get round some bullet point in the licensing restrictions to be able to drive on L plates and a motorcycle licence.
