On Potholes and Positioning

Postby Triquet » Sun May 27, 2018 11:28 am

It's getting worse. People are lurching all over the road to avoid falling down the pothole. It's getting more and more difficult to read peoples intent, and its playing merry hell with my own positioning. Indeed if the road is one of those nice little NSL B-roads, I'm tending to just drive down the middle (white line if there is one, grass in extremis) .... :racing: :gear:

White line / middle ... you need a motorbike. :)

The potholes make life 'interesting' on a motorcycle! A bump/jolt in the car can be so much worse on a bike. Observation of the road surface is a major priority.

It's a good excuse for not following too closely!
there is only the road, nothing but the road ...

And despite the appalling state of our roads, Cambs council can still find money for pointless speed limit reductions :bash: :bash: :bash:
For instance changing this short link section to a 40. How much money have they pissed away on that? :soap:

I never need an excuse for that ;)

(though may occasionally need reminding)

Same down here in Dorset. And loads of money wasted on pointless hatched markings.

You can just make out the solid lined hatched marking following the kerb on the Wareham Road to the right.

Our roads are quite badly pot holed, but in all fairness, the LA have been out long over due repairs recently.

Perhaps these Councils want us to walk everywhere?
Or, revert to horses.
Today's Politicians, especially at a local level, don't have a clue about economic efficiency.
