The Crash Detectives

Interesting two part series about Gwent's Collision Investigation unit - part one last night, part two in a week's time.

Thanks.

Wondered how I'd missed this in the schedules. Then I saw it is/was only on BBC Wales.

Have set the recorder to series record. It says 4 parts, so we will see.

First episode was good - interesting and quite shocking in what they discovered. One of the team: Chris Goddard did a talk to my IAM group last year - he didn't mention he was going to be a media-star.

Heads up people - Series 2 of The Crash Detectives starts Monday Jan 20th at 8:30pm.

It's on BBC Wales again, and if you can't get that it'll be available on iPlayer.

One of the cases from this series where a nurse on painkillers blacked out and killed a driver on the opposite carriageway got a mention in the RoADAR newsletter - she was sentenced to 5 years & 4 months

I seem to remember that was the one who lied through her teeth and then several months later the police found prescription pain killers (brought abroad) in the crashed car's glove box. I was surprised the car wasn't searched earlier and the drugs missed in the toxicology report. A friend who used to be an accident investigator also pointed out to me the report they showed on screen had ketamine showing.
