I think it's still at prototype stage and if the spec becomes a reality, it looks great. How would the UK road traffic act deal with this? Legal/illegal? I expect it's like Segways that can't legally be used on pavements or the road.

DSA (as was) banned the BMW C1 from CBTs & accompanied test - and that was relatively 'normal'.
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.
