If it comes out in court (for your 'bump') you had previous and didn't declare it when asked, you're in all sorts of trouble...driving without insurance, fraud...

I doubt driving without insurance would be prosecuted if a policy is voided after the event.

Deliberately not declaring in the belief it will reduce your premium is fraud but missing out information such as that on a form seems unlikely to result in prosecution.

On the other hand having your policy cancelled can result in large increases in future premiums. Would you want to insure someone who had previously failed to provide relevant information when asked?
