So the boring little French thing went on Wednesday to the nice people who want any car, and today this arrived:
Then this afternoon I was reunited with the yellow peril, not quite as yellow as before, sniff ... but much shinier and less flakiness:
so quite a day, really!

Are you going to go all Ben Hur, one foot on each?
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Re: All change
Well, as someone who has a skoda of that era in that colour I thoroughly approve! Will be interesting to compare the vrs and scout - which is lower power but 4x4
But.....

A Skoda Octopus VRS (Visually Really Sombre).
I do like that shade of blue though. That Porch would look really good in that colour.

Re: All change
Same wheels, silver because the two-tone yellow / silver was too hard / expensive to reproduce but the yellow was flaking and / because corrosion was setting in on some of the spokes and I didn't want it getting any worse.
VRS - yes can see the point - I think the intention is for it to look macho and mean. Either way it's still a hell of a lot of car for the money.
My porch is a brick arch with the lower half rendered, so I'm not sure metallic blue would really suit it

Good moves on both counts.
I haven't driven the new shape Octavia vRS yet, but I drove the previous generation car last week and really enjoyed it. Assuming yours in the diesel?

Yes. Economy over fun, because it's the work car and it needs to earn its living on business journeys. The mileage rates as published by HMRC now are cut to the bone, so petrol probably wouldn't cut it. I haven't driven it more than 2 miles myself, but I'll post something when I have. Initial impression is - wow, this is big, and lots of toys. Goes well when you press harder on the loud pedal, very refined and gentle with less pressure
