I'm now 18!

It's my 18th birthday today :D

So it's my first anniversary of passing my theory test!

Many happy returns junior.... 8-)

I passed my test in 1967 (what's this theory test thing? ;) ) at 17yrs 5 months after 5 lessons in April and 5 in September....with no driving between those months. Not that many cars on the road though....

Cost: £10 for 11 lessons. Mind you my apprentice pay was £22 a month..... And my accommodation /main meal £5 & 5 shillings (Guineas....) a week. 5 week months were a problem...

All that cake? Happy burpday!
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Probably the best informed 18 year old about road driving in the country. Happy birthday.

Me too. First attempt was on the day following the closures of the local test centers for a week or so after tests were suspended due to heavy snow falls, impassable side roads etc. I was on early, examiner called me out and we walked to my car with lots of tutting and head shaking, It went downhill from there on. Waiting behind a learner driver at traffic lights, the lights went green and the learner stalled - my examiner lent across and sounded the horn for what must have been 10 seconds accompanied by a string of expletives. I failed the test.

Next day I applied for a second driving test, turned up on the day, sat in the waiting room when my name was called out, I turned round and shock/horror it was the same examiner. The test rushed by, he was nice as pie and I passed. Make up your own mind as to what were in his thoughts - at least he still had a job!

Good grief!

I don't feel old, and I'm nearly 76. There's probably something wrong with me......
