There are very few pictures on this board at the moment. Lets share some images of glorious roads, cars and other related material.

I'll start with three. One of them is pure narcissism for which I apologise.

My first car was a rover 200. Guess how it died...

Can you explain the significance of the magazine cover?

It was for a piece on classic convertibles for every application and budget. They considered the mx5 old enough to be included, as well as a 986 which is at the very back. When I purchased the car, it was completely stock and in very good condition so they wanted to use it for the shoot. It was an interesting day, though a bit slow.

The cars were paired and comparisons drawn based on budget. The mx5 was put with the spitfire. It wasn't a 'which is best' but a which suited a given activity better. He decided my car was like a pug 205 Gti in character, which I found a little odd, but having never driven one, I can't compare.

The Lincoln was in the cavalcade (?) when JFK was assassinated and though it wasn't the car he was riding in, it had been modified to look like it.

The Sunbeam Tiger sounded better than the TVR which was a pleasant surprise.

The Lincoln that the president was shot in was crushed and burned by the state.
It seems they thought it would be too distressing for the general population to view it!
