With entirely justifiable* reason, I popped into a Reading pub on my own, for a quick pint at about 4pm yesterday. Pre-covid, that pub would have been heaving with people on a Friday afternoon. On arrival, I was the only customer.
*justification: I needed a trip to town. I decided I’d benefit from some exercise, by walking over 2 miles to the station and catching the train. My Apple watch informed me that I burned over 200 cal on the walk, which pretty much equals the cals in a pint so, I reasoned, ‘free beer’.
