There was a rather rotund driver on the Hants and Dorset buses who, so I was told as a kid, could steer with his stomach.
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Many years ago, the chap in a volvo behind had his arms folded on top of the steering wheel. I had to brake firmly for an oncoming ovetaker. I did laugh.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me...not from an AD point of view of course...I'm sure we're all 10-2 or 3-45 most of the time...err...aren't we?

I don’t suppose we should take a space filler article in the Daily Fail too seriously, but I think some of those steering techniques would leave the driver open to being charged with not being in proper control of the vehicle.

How about this. If you look on the IAM website under member rewards , member only insurance services, in the photo next to motorcycle insurance you can see quite clearly that the rider is not wearing gloves or maybe he just took the left one off to take the photo.
