Methinks that is the nub, the slower they go the further they can go between charges. Another reason for dropping perfectly good national's to 40, or am I being paranoid?

If they can't, they're doing it wrong (for the same reason speed limits shouldn't apply at all to automous cars. If they can't work out when they need to be travelling slower than the speed limit, they're not fit for purpose, and if they can do that, why do they need a limit at all?)
