Another IAM Forum Refugee

Postby GTR1400MAN » Fri Apr 29, 2016 2:40 pm

Hi everyone.

Yes another refugee from the now defunct IAM Forum.

I'll try and contribute to the Riding section and ask awkward questions in the car section. :D

Background is I've been riding since 16 (40 years) mostly on Hondas. Moved to a 1400GTR Kwacker 2 years ago. I'm a Senior Observer with the IAM (and ex-chairman) with Suffolk Advanced Motorcyclists and also run their website, forum and Facebook page.
Mike Roberts - Now riding a Triumph Explorer XRT. My username comes from my 50K miles on a Kawasaki 1400GTR, after many years on Hondas of various shapes and styles. - https://tinyurl.com/mikerobertsonyoutube

Welcome, you'd be a bit "old school" I'd presume?

Welcome!

As someone who started riding in '76 and got involved with training in '79, would you assume I'm old school too? :)
Your 'standard' is how you drive alone, not how you drive during a test.

Hmm, if you mean I like things done properly, then yes. ;)

If you mean am I averse to new ideas then no, I make my own mind up.

I'm still 25 in my head! Image

Anyone who's been riding a bike for that long without dying must be doing something right...

Welcome!

Sort of my point, riding or driving can be fun.

I suspect fun is no longer the remit of anyone in any organisation in this country.

If you will grace us with the title of "organisation", it certainly is, here!
